Important: You must be signed in to Yahoo! in order to receive new mail alerts. If you sign out of Yahoo!7 Mail or any other Yahoo! property, you won't receive new mail alerts until you sign back in.

Yahoo!7 Toolbar checks for new Yahoo!7 Mail every few minutes automatically. To check for new mail manually:

1. Click the Pencil menu . ()
2. Select "Refresh Toolbar".
3. The Mail button will update to show the number of new messages. ()

Note: You must have the Mail button visible on your Yahoo!7 Toolbar in order to receive mail alerts.

If you still don't see the new mail alert, make sure you're signed in. To test that mail notification is working, please do the following:

1. Click the Yahoo!7 Mail button on your toolbar.
2. Sign in to Yahoo!7 Mail.
3. Send a message to yourself.
4. Click the big red Y! icon to go to yahoo.com. Do NOT sign out of Yahoo!7 Mail.
5. Wait, and you should see the new mail notification show up in 5-10 minutes.

Note: Sometimes it can take several minutes for mail to be delivered, so it could take as much as 15-20 minutes for the new mail alert to appear.
