Is the information I save in MyWeb Beta private?

Yahoo! takes your security seriously. We've woven many protective measures right into the fabric of MyWeb.

MyWeb offers you a choice of three privacy levels to specify who can view your saved pages:

  • Me: You're the only one allowed to access pages saved at this level.
  • Just These Contacts: Some contacts have labels that let them access sites with a corresponding label. You can label certain links to be shared only with "selected contacts."
  • Everyone: Share pages with everybody in the global MyWeb community.

It's up to you. You're in control.

Because MyWeb is all about sharing, any page you save is automatically labeled as shared with Everyone. However, every time you save a page, you can designate pages as private (Me) or restrict access by labeling the site accessible to selected contacts only. And you can customize the default setting on your ]Search Preferences page.

MyWeb is also password-protected and associated with your Yahoo! ID to help ensure your privacy. When importing bookmarks to save as MyWeb pages they are automatically saved at the Me level and accessible only by you until you change the access level.

Yahoo takes other reasonable steps to protect your information. To learn more about these security steps, please read the ]Security Information in the Yahoo! Privacy Policy. Also, please visit our Guide to Online Security for additional information on how to reduce your security risk when online.
