When you join Yahoo!, you create a Main ID to log in to various services. Many people use either all or parts of their real name in their Yahoo!7 ID.

During the profile process, you are asked to choose to create a Yahoo!7 Dating name (alias) in addition to your main Yahoo!7 ID, if you do not want to use your Yahoo!7 ID for instant messaging.

Creating an alias or personals name for your Yahoo!7 ID can provide security, privacy, and convenience when using [Yahoo!7 Dating. You can create new aliases by following these steps.

1. Go to the [url=http://members.yahoo.comYahoo!7 Member Directory[/url].
2. Click the "My Profiles" link at the top of the page.
3. Click "Create a New Public Profile" (You can have up to six aliases in a single account).
4. Enter the name you want for your new alias and fill in the rest of the form with any information you would like to have displayed in your profile.
5. Click "Done" when you're finished, then click "Finished Editing" on the next page.

This profile is now available for your use when posting [Yahoo!7 Dating Profiles. Remember: you can't change the name of an alias once you create it, but you can change any information on the Public Profile for an alias.

In order to use your alias when posting an ad, please do the following:

1. Click "Edit" next to your [Yahoo!7 Dating Ad title.
2. Click the "Edit" link after the sentence that says: "Reminder: You've chosen to make your ad searchable/not searchable located at the top of the page."
3. Choose the alias you wish post the ad under from the pull-down menu.
4. On the bottom of the page, click "Save Changes."
