How do I configure Internet Explorer for a PC?

Replace an article

You have reached the maximum number of saved articles. Your oldest saved article will be replaced with the new one.

Internet Explorer 5.x

  1. Click "Tools," located on the IE 5 toolbar.
  2. Select "Internet Options."
  3. Click the "Security" tab.
  4. Click "Custom Level."
  5. Configure the six categories by following the directions below:
    • Active X Controls and Plug-ins - Enable Download signed ActiveX, Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins, and Script ActiveX controls marked safe for scripting.
    • Cookies - Enable both options in this category.
    • Downloads - Enable File Download.
    • Miscellaneous - Set Software Channel to Medium.
    • Scripting - Enable all options in this category.
    • Skip the last category.
  6. Click "OK."
  7. Click the "Advanced" tab.
  8. Locate the "Browsing" category.
  9. Check the following option:
    • Disable script debugging.
  10. Uncheck the following options:
    • Display a notification about every script error.
    • Reuse windows for launching shortcuts.
  11. Click "Apply."
  12. Select the "General" tab.
  13. Click "Settings" (located in the Temporary Internet Files category).
  14. Click the option marked "Every visit to the page."
  15. Click "OK."
  16. Click "Delete Files" (located in the Temporary Internet Files category).
  17. Click "OK" to go ahead with the Temporary File deletion. (This clears your browser's cache of stored files.)
  18. Click "OK."
  19. Click the "Refresh" icon on the toolbar and try the broadcast again.

Internet Explorer 6

  1. Click "Tools" located on the IE 6 toolbar.
  2. Select "Internet Options."
  3. Click the "Security" tab.
  4. Click "Custom Level."
  5. Configure the categories by following the directions below:
    • Active X Controls and Plug-ins - Enable Download signed ActiveX, Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins, and Script ActiveX controls marked safe for scripting.
    • Cookies - Enable both options in this category.
    • Downloads - Enable File Download.
    • Miscellaneous - Set Software Channel to Medium.
    • Scripting - Enable all options in this category.
  6. Click "OK."
  7. Click the "Privacy" tab.
  8. Set the slider to "Medium."
  9. Click the "Advanced" tab.
  10. Locate the "Browsing" category.
  11. Check the following option:
    • Disable script debugging.
  12. Uncheck the following options:
    • Display a notification about every script error.
    • Reuse windows for launching shortcuts.
  13. Click "Apply."
  14. Select the "General" tab.
  15. Click "Settings" (located in the Temporary Internet Files category).
  16. Click the option marked "Every visit to the page."
  17. Click "OK."
  18. Click "Delete Files" (located in the Temporary Internet Files category).
  19. Click "OK" to go ahead with the Temporary File deletion. (This clears your browser's cache of stored files.)
  20. Click "OK" to close the Options window and return to your browser.
  21. Click the "Refresh" icon on the toolbar and try the broadcast again.
