If you are using Yahoo!7 Mail with Internet Explorer (IE) on Windows, you need to enable Internet Explorer’s built-in ActiveX capabilities to use some of the XML features in the all-new Yahoo!7 Mail.

Note: You do not need to enable ActiveX if you are using Firefox, Opera, or Safari.

To enable ActiveX in Internet Explorer 6 and later:

  1. From the Tools menu (the "gear" icon in IE 9) | Select Internet Options.
  2. Select the Security tab.

    Internet Options Security tab
  3. Click Internet as the zone to change.
  4. Click Custom Level. The Security Settings - Internet Zone dialog box appears.

Security Settings - Internet Zone dialog box
  5. Scroll down to the options below Internet ActiveX Controls and Plugins and enable the following:
    • Run ActiveX Controls and Plugins
    • Script ActiveX Controls Marked Safe for Scripting
  6. Click OK to save your settings and exit the Internet ActiveX Controls and Plugins dialog box.
  7. Click OK to close the Internet Options dialog box.
  8. Exit Internet Explorer.

ActiveX is enabled when you reboot Internet Explorer.
