You put your device in invisible mode. In this mode, you won't appear as online to your friends—the smiley next to your name stays gray. Although you appear to be offline, you can send and receive messages as usual.

1. Log into Yahoo! Messenger on your device.
2. Choose Preferences.
3. Choose Invisible Mode.
4. Choose I am invisible to others.
