How do I add a source to News?

There are many ways to add a source to News.

Searching News

At the News position of the carousel, choose Options > oneSearch, provide search words or a phrase, and choose oneSearch.

In the search results, choose a News source or More news sources. Scroll through the stories and sources to the one you want, choose it, choose the Add source item, and choose News for the destination of the source.

Browsing News

At the News position of the carousel, choose Open, and then choose Options > Add sources. In the list that opens, you can search for sources or choose from the following:

  • Collections of Yahoo! sources
  • Other sources
  • Sources you have added to My Yahoo!

You can also choose to enter the URL for the source.

Choosing a collection opens a list of sources. Scroll to one or more unused sources from the list, and choose Add.

With a source selected in a collection, you can use the Options menu item Preview to examine the source first.

The final step is to save the new list of sources. Choose Options > Save.

You can set up your Yahoo! source collection as described in What do I need to use News?

Searching in general

As you use oneSearch generally, search results can provide a News source. Choose the source, choose the Add source item in the list of articles, and choose News for the destination of the source.

Note that adding a source to News in Yahoo! Go 2.0 does not add it to any other service.

Some search results for a theme or person in the news can also provide a My Watchlist item which searches for articles. If you want to add the theme or person, choose the item and choose News for the destination. To get the News articles, navigate to My Watchlist, and choose the theme or name.
