Description

Sometimes users experience password- or authentication-related issues on mobile devices which have no obvious root cause or resolution. This can be due to a conflict in the user's account security settings.

Resolution
Note: Before trying the troubleshooting steps below, please try these troubleshooting steps for mobile password issues. Android users, please see our troubleshooting steps specific to Androids.

If you continue to experience password issues after trying our recommended first troubleshooting steps, there could be a conflict in your account security settings for your mobile device. Please use the following steps to ensure there are no conflicting security settings:
  1. Sign into your Yahoo! Mail account from a desktop computer.
  2. In the top-right corner of the page, hover over the link Hi, (your name) and select Account Info from the drop-down box. You will need to provide your password again for security purposes.
  3. On the Account Info page under the heading "Sign-In and Security" heading, click the link Manage Apps and Website Connections. This page lists websites, applications, and mobile devices that you have authorized to access your  Yahoo! account.
  4. Remove any entries listed for Yahoo! Mobile or Yahoo! for your type of device.
  5. Log into your Yahoo! Mail account using your mobile device and attempt to reproduce the issue.
