How to adjust my webcam settings, including brightness and contrast

This document describes how to fix webcam settings.

You can adjust the brightness and contrast of your webcam image as needed according to the light in your environment.

To adjust the brightness and contrast of your webcam:

1. From the Messenger menu | select My Webcam. The My Webcam window opens.
   
   
2. In the My Webcam window, click the File menu | select Preferences. The Yahoo! Messenger Preferences window opens.
   
   
3. Click Webcam Broadcast under Category at the left.
   
   
4. Click Camera Settings and the Video Source window opens.
   
   
5. Click the Device Settings tab in the Video Source window.
   
   
6. Move the slider to adjust the controls for brightness, contrast or any of the other options you wish to change.
7. Click Apply to view your adjustments in the My Webcam window.
8. Click OK when you are satisfied with the results.

Making some simple adjustments can greatly improve webcam image quality.
