How to change the image size for your webcam

Description

 This article explains how to edit your Messenger webcam image size settings and preferences. It will also explain how to maximize the view of your contact's webcam image.


Resolution

To change your webcam image size:

  1. Click Messenger | My Webcam.
  2. Click Messenger again, and select Preferences.
  3. At the top of the window that opens, click Camera Settings.

To change your webcam image size for a single session:

  1. Click Messenger | My Webcam.
  2. In the window that opens, click Webcam | Image Size.

To make your contact's webcam image full screen:

  1. First, you must view your friend's webcam. There are two ways to view a friend's webcam:
  • Click the link that says View My Webcam to the right of your friend's ID.
  • If they don't display a message when webcam broadcasting, right-click on your "friend's ID," then select View Friend's Webcam.
  1. In the upper-right corner of your friend's webcam screen, click the maximize window button (located between the "minimize window" and "close window" buttons on the top right of the window).
  2. To exit full screen, press the Esc key on your keyboard.
