Using Other Yahoo! Messenger Features While on a Video Call

ID: SLN1512
Refers to: Messenger 10 and earlier

Resolution

You can use other Yahoo! Messenger features while you're on a video call (as long as you don't make the video full screen). For example, while on a video call you can continue IM conversations, play games, share photos, send files, etc. If you do go full screen, you'll continue to receive alerts at the bottom right of the screen when someone sends you an instant message.

The only things that you can't do while on a video call are:

  • Simultaneously carry on a video call with another friend. (The first video call will automatically be put on hold if you start another call.)
  • Switch to a voice-only call with the same friend without ending the current call.
  • Start sharing your webcam without ending the current call.
  • Use IMVironments (any current IMVironment will be turned off when the video call starts, to leave more room for the video).
