How the Save Layout Preference options work
Resolution
Now that you’ve got your new Yahoo! Toolbar, did you know there are a variety of ways you can customize it? That’s what the Save Layout Preferences help with—saving all the changes you make to your toolbar so you can access them again later. You also have a couple of options for saving your customizations, and the one you choose depends on how and where you like to browse the Web. (If you don’t know how to customize your toolbar, check out the Similar Topics list on the right side of this page.)
Here are the options for saving your customized toolbar:
- Save My Yahoo! Toolbar layout and settings to this computer only: If you prefer to use the Yahoo! Toolbar without having to sign in first, select this option to save your customizations on the browser and computer where you made the changes. If you change browsers or change computers, you won't see your customizations.
- Save My Yahoo! Toolbar layout and settings to My Yahoo! ID: If you prefer to display and use the Yahoo! Toolbar only after you sign in, select this option to make your customized features available from any computer on which you’re signed in. If you sign out, you no longer see your changes, even in the same browser on the same computer where you made the changes.
To set these options, click the
button in your toolbar and select Toolbar Preferences.

Choose the option you prefer by selecting the circle next to it, then click I’m Done.

Note: if you want any applications accessible from your toolbar whether or not you’re signed in, add them to your toolbar both when you’re signed in and when you’re signed out.
