Description

This article explains how webpages are removed from the Yahoo! Search results.

Resolution

If the website/page you would like removed no longer has a valid URL, its listing will automatically be deleted from the Search Results during our next content refresh period.

If the website/page you would like removed is still valid, you will need to contact the website owner or site content provider regarding your concerns. You can usually find contact information for the website owner or webmaster on the site itself; but if it is not listed there, you can identify the domain provider for a website through sites like WhoIs.net.

After the site has removed or corrected the published content, the information in the search database will be corrected by our normal content refresh processes. You may still see the pages listed in our database for some time after the site content or control documents are changed. The changes will be reflected in our search database when the information is updated in our next refresh cycle.

If the website/page contains personal identifying information (PII) (e.g., social security numbers or credit card numbers), then we may be able to remove the information from our Search Results without removing it from the site. Please contact us through our online form and indicate which personal information is being displayed and we will investigate further.

Note: Because personal names are not unique and several people may have the same name, pages containing content about a different person with the same name may not be subject to change or removal.

When providing personal data to a website, always make sure to check the site's privacy policy. In some cases, your submission to a site grants them permission to publish your information.

Note: Yahoo! does not control and cannot make changes to websites outside of its network.
