Uneven trade error message

Description

This article explains why you received the "Uneven Trade" error message, and how you can fix your trade so it can go through.

Resolution

If you receive an "Uneven Trade" message when attempting to propose or accept a trade, this message in no way relates to player value and does not represent an automated review of the trade's merits.

This message is generated only when a trade would put a team over the active roster limit if processed as proposed. You are required to designate a player to drop to waivers as part of the deal.

This message will appear along with your roster of players. Select the player you wish to drop and then click Submit to accept or propose the trade.

The player in question will be dropped from your team only if the trade is accepted and processed.

You will not lose the player you designate for waivers if the offer is declined or if the trade is vetoed.

Notes regarding DL players:

  • DL players do not count against your active roster limit. If you are trading a player from your DL for an active player on another team, you will have to designate a player to drop to waivers from your team.
  • Players cannot be added directly to a DL position via trade. If both rosters are full and teams are trading DL players, each team would be required to drop a player.
