This article explains how Yahoo! Sports fills empty draft slots in a public league as the draft time slot approaches.

All free Yahoo! Sports public fantasy leagues will be filled to 12 teams (10 for football) prior to the draft time.

If your draft is approaching and your public league is not full, Yahoo! Sports will add teams from a pool of available managers to fill your league.

It is not possible to invite a friend, family member or co-worker to fill a vacancy in your public league. It is considered a violation of Yahoo! Sports Fair Play and Sportsmanship rules to set out to join a public league with a friend, family member or co-worker. If you would like to have your friends, family, or co-workers play in a league with you, please create you own private league.
