Deleting unrenewed teams or increasing Maximum Teams setting

Description

This article tells you how to reduce or increase the number of teams in your league. You can increase the league size to add more managers or remove teams from prior seasons that won't be returning.

Resolution

If you want to reduce the number of teams in your league for this season and are unable to do so because you have teams that have not been renewed from last season, this will help.

What you will need to do is delete the teams that will not be returning from last season. Then you will be able to reduce the max teams setting to the desired limit.

Please note: Once you delete a team there is no way to recover it. If this team had traded draft picks last season, deleting it will prevent you from importing any draft picks that were traded for any team. You can always invite someone else to take over an unrenewed team rather than deleting it. Simply enter another email address in the invitation box from the Invite Friends tool and click Send Invitations.

To delete a team that has no manager assigned:

  1. Click on the Commish Tools tab.
  2. Go to the "League Management" section.
  3. Click on the Invite Friends link.
  4. Hover over the team you wish to delete, and then click the red X that appears to the right.

You also can increase the number of teams in your league, if (for example) you would like to add expansion teams to a keeper league.

To change the Maximum Teams setting:

  1. Click on the Commish Tools tab.
  2. Go to the "League Management" section.
  3. Click on the Edit League Settings link.
  4. Find the first item under the "League Setting" section, and click on the Maximum teams in league drop-down.
  5. Choose the appropriate number of teams from the list.
