Maximum Starts rule in Fantasy Auto Racing

Description

This article explains that when you start your racing season will determine how many starts a driver can have before they no longer earn points.

Resolution

Each driver in Yahoo! Sports Fantasy Auto Racing can be an active member of your team in no more than 9 races for the entire season. Once a driver has reached the 9-race limit, he will no longer accumulate any fantasy points for your team even if he occupies an active roster spot.

If you reach the 9-race limit for a driver on your current roster, you will not be able to release them and subsequently reacquire them. You may keep the driver on your roster, but he will no longer accumulate any points. The number of races each driver has played for you will be listed along with all of his other stats.

If you join Yahoo! Sports Fantasy Auto Racing during or after the 5th race of the year, you will receive progressively fewer remaining starts, as follows:

Join Week Starts Remaining
1-4 9
5-8 8
9-12 7
13-16 6
17-20 5
21-24 4
25-28 3
29-32 2
33-36 1

Note: If you join during the roster lockdown of a given week, you will be given the starts remaining as of that week. For example, if you join during just before week 16's race, you will be given 6 starts remaining.

For purposes of this game, a driver must be active for a race in order to receive credit for a race started. If you have a driver active for only qualifying, but then you subsequently bench that driver before the race, the driver does not get credit for a race started.

When a driver has reached the maximum starts limit and thus has 0 starts remaining, he no longer accumulates any fantasy points (including bonus points) for your team, even if he occupies an active roster spot.

While you're welcome to keep a capped player on your roster, it's in your best interest to remove the player in favor of a driver who is eligible to earn points.

This limit applies to the entire Yahoo! Sports Fantasy Auto Racing season and does not reset in a new segment. If you use a driver 9 times in the first segment of the season, he isn't eligible to earn any fantasy points for the remainder of the season.

If a driver is on your active roster for a given race, but doesn't participate in that real-life event for any reason, he isn't credited with a race started.

The number of races each driver has remaining for you is listed in a box in the "Starts Left" column on your team page next to each driver's name.
