Draft app troubleshooting tips
Description
Find the troubleshooting steps to successfully conduct a Mock or Live Draft. If for any reason these steps fail to allow you to run a live draft, it will show you the information Customer Care needs to assist you.
Resolution
Please try these troubleshooting tips before contacting Customer Care.
- First, if you have not already done so, please run the draft app test from the list below. If the test fails, try the solutions below, and then try the test again, repeating that process through each solution.
- Please try to log off from Yahoo! and then log back on.
- The use of the draft app requires installation of the Adobe Flash Player.
- Please visit Adobe.com to learn more about Flash system requirements, and to reach the Adobe Flash Support Center.
- Update your browser to the most current version.
- Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, or Chrome are the best options.
- Try clearing cookies and cache.
- Try loading the draft app using an alternate browser.
- Temporarily disable software that maybe causing the issue.
- Try disabling any pop-up blocking software while attempting to access the test draft app. If you have a pop-up blocker in place, please contact the manufacturer for information on disabling the software or allowing pop-ups from certain domains.
- You may also experience difficulties if your computer is running any active anti-spyware or anti-adware programs. If your computer is running such software, please temporarily disable the programs when running a live draft app.
- Dial-up connections will not work and are not supported. You'll also have more success when drafting on a high-speed broadband connection. (such as, DSL, cable modem, T1 or faster.)
- If you are trying the app from home, through a personal router, you can try bypassing the router and connect directly to the modem, as that will bypass the built in firewall in your router.
- If you are trying the app from work, you may experience difficulties while trying to access the test draft app from behind a firewall, proxy server, or personal router. Live Drafts within Yahoo! Fantasy Sports use ports 843, 1843, and 8900, or you can disable the firewall entirely (or lower your security settings). Please contact your system administrator for information on how to open up these ports.
If you're still encountering an error when you attempt to load the draft app, we'd like to collect some information on this issue.
- Was the test completed on the same machine that failed to load the live draft app?
- What is your league number and Team name?
- What was the date and time when the draft app failed to load? (Please include the time zone)
- What browser and version number did you try to load the draft? In your browser, select Help then About.
- Did you receive an error message? If so, what was the exact error message?
- What type of internet connection do you have? (Please describe how you connect to the internet in as much detail as possible. I.E. Broadband, DSL, Dial up, wireless.)
- What version of Adobe Flash does your computer have installed? To locate this information go to Adobe's web site.
- Were you attempting to access the draft from work where a firewall might be present?
