Stopping automatic mobile phone sign in with Messenger

Resolution

You can turn off (or "disable") the feature that automatically signs you in to your mobile device when you sign out of Messenger.

  • Use Messenger on your compuer: To make these changes, you'll need to do this from the version of Messenger installed on your computer. If you don't have it, go to the Yahoo! Messenger download page to install it.

How to stop automatic sign in to your mobile device when you sign out of Messenger:

  1. Select the Messenger menu | Preferences.
    - Note: You need to use the version of Messenger on your computer.
    - Go to the Yahoo! Messenger download page to install it now.
  2. Select the Mobile category and go to the "Yahoo! Messenger Via SMS" section.
  3. Uncheck Sign me in to SMS when I sign out of Messenger on my computer.
  4. Select Apply and then select OK.
  5. Sign out of Messenger, and then sign back in again.
