This article describes that your Conversation History is on by default, but that it can be turned off. You can begin archiving Messenger conversations again by turning the Conversation History on . Conversation History is an archive of your Messenger conversations.

In Messenger, the Conversation History is set as "on" by default. This allows you to have access to your past Messenger conversations. If you don't want your Messenger conversations to be archived with Conversation History, you can turn it off.

How to turn Conversation History on or off:

1. Go to Messenger | Preferences.
2. Select Conversation History in the left column.
   - The Conversation History options display at the right.
3. Select your preference:
   - Keep a history of my conversations
   - Do not keep a history of my conversations
4. Click Apply and then click OK.
