This article explains how to save archived conversations, or your current instant message (IM) conversation, as a text file.

To save your active instant message (IM) conversation to a text file:

1. Click the Conversation menu in the IM window.
2. Select Save As...
3. Specify a name and location for the file, then click Save.

To save archived messages from your Conversation History:

1. Click the Contacts menu and select Conversation History.
2. Locate and select the conversation you would like to save.
3. Click the Save screen (disk icon) button on the right side of the window.
4. Specify a name and location for the file, then click Save.
