Method 1: To call someone on your Messenger List:

  1. Hover over the contact's name on your Messenger List and a down arrow will appear at the right.
  2. Click the down arrow and select Start Video Call. You'll hear a ringtone while waiting for your contact to answer.
  3. When you're done with your call, click the End Call button in the Conversation window.

Method 2: During an instant message conversation:

  1. Start an instant message conversation with someone.
  2. Click the Video Call button in the toolbar of the Conversation window. You'll hear a ringtone while waiting for your contact to answer.
  3. When you're done with your call, click the End Call button in the Conversation window.

Method 3: Using the Actions menu:

  1. On the Actions menu, click Start Video Call and the Start a Video Call window will open.
  2. Choose the appropriate tab:
    1. For contacts on your Messenger List, click the My Contacts tab and then select the contact's name.
    2. For someone not on your Messenger List, click the Other Contact tab and then enter the contact's Yahoo! ID.
  3. Click OK. You'll hear a ringtone while waiting for your contact to answer.
  4. When you're done with your call, click the End Call button in the Conversation window.

Note: The first time you make a video call, Yahoo! Messenger will open the Yahoo! Screen and Yahoo! voice assistant to help you optimize the call quality of your microphone, speakers, and webcam. Also, in order to start a video call with another contact both users will need to have the latest version of Yahoo! Messenger.
