Why are my updates showing in Messenger

Description

This document explains why updates from services like Facebook and Twitter are showing up in Yahoo! Messenger.


Resolution

You can control which Yahoo! Updates will appear to others in Yahoo! Messenger.

To prevent your updates from being shared please follow these steps:

  1. From the "Messenger" menu, select Manage Updates I Broadcast. Your Yahoo! Updates "Manage updates" page will open in your default browser.
  2. Uncheck the box for Share my updates.
    • From this location you can also manage which updates you would like to share or not share. Click Show all Yahoo! sources, select the drop downs for how you want to share your updates.
  3. When you are done, click Save.
