Description
This article addresses an issue where customers may be unable to add contacts in Yahoo! Messenger due to the following error message:
- There was an error in the server while trying to add a contact.
Resolution

If you continue to encounter this error for more than a day or so, contact Yahoo! Customer Care directly for further assistance.
1. Click Get Help on the lower-right side of this page.
2. Submit a help request by selecting the following drop-downs:

- Version: [Your version]
- Category: Notices and errors | messenger application error
3. When completing the help form, for the fastest possible resolution, please be sure to include the following information:
- Yahoo! ID you are using when you experience this issue
- Specify the exact error message you receive
