Troubleshooting Voice and Video in the Yahoo! Messenger for Android app

This article provides procedures which can be very helpful in resolving a variety of issues with the Voice Call and Video Call features in the Yahoo! Messenger for Android app, including no Voice or Video icon on the Home Screen.


Resolution

Uninstall the "Messenger Voice and Video" Plug-In.

  1. Press the Home button.
  2. Press the Menu button.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Tap Applications.
  5. Tap Manage Applications.
  6. Tap Messenger Voice and Video.
  7. Tap Force stop.
  8. Tap Clear cache | OK.
  9. Tap Clear data | OK.
  10. Tap Uninstall | OK.

Reinstall the "Messenger Voice and Video" Plug-In.

  1. Press the Home button.
  2. Sign in to Yahoo! Messenger for Android.
  3. Press the Menu button.
  4. Tap Options.
  5. Tap Voice and Video.
  6. Tap Install Plug-In.
  7. Tap Free.
  8. Tap OK. The plug-in will be downloaded and installed.

Please Note: You can tap the "Voice and Video" option after the installation to learn more about this feature.
