Discontinuation of MSN Windows Live Messenger and Hotmail interoperability with Yahoo!7 Messenger
Resolution
Yahoo!7 Messenger no longer works with MSN Windows Live Messenger and Hotmail IDs.
Impact: Yahoo!7 Messenger users will see their MSN Windows Live Messenger and Hotmail contacts disabled.
MSN Windows Live Messenger and Hotmail users:
- Get Yahoo!7 Messenger: If you would like to start instant messaging (IMing) with Yahoo!7 Messenger, please download the latest version of Yahoo!7 Messenger.
Additional Information
- Another Yahoo!7 IMing option - IM from Yahoo!7 Mail: You can also IM using Messenger in Mail from Yahoo!7 Mail with no download required.
- To learn how to use it, see our help article about using Messenger in Mail. - Get a Yahoo!7 account: Go to the Yahoo!7 Registration page and follow the prompts to set up a new Yahoo!7 account.
- MSN Windows Live Messenger and Hotmail interoperability was discontinued on December 14, 2012.
