Using your current location with the Mobile Yahoo! homepage

ID: SLN7869
Refers to: Mobile

Description

This article describes the various ways you can tell the Mobile Yahoo! homepage your location information.

Resolution

When the Yahoo! homepage iPhone or iPod touch app starts, it gives you an option to allow it to use your current location. If you give it permission to do so, then the Yahoo! homepage can use your location to customize the content it shows you.

If you are using a mobile browser to get to the Yahoo! homepage at http://m.yahoo.com/, then you have to tell us your location by clicking the city name at the bottom of the screen.

With the location set, the homepage can then respond to your searches with results relevant to where you are, including directions to get to a place or business.
