Password troubleshooting for iOS devices
Description
Learn basic troubleshooting steps for Yahoo! Mail on iOS devices (iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad).
Resolution
Note: Prior to attempting these troubleshooting steps, attempt to sign in to our mobile homepage (via your desktop). If you can successfully sign in on your desktop, your password is not experiencing any technical issues.
If you recently changed your password via your desktop computer, but have yet to update your OS device with the new password:
- Tap the Settings app on your iOS device.
- Tap Mail, contacts, calendars.
- Tap the Yahoo! account that you need to edit.
- Under "Password," enter your new password.
If you are still unable to sign in, it may be necessary to remove and re-add your Yahoo! account from the iOS device:
To remove and re-add your Yahoo! account:
- Tap the Settings app on your iOS device.
- Tap Mail, contacts, calendars.
- Scroll down, then tap Delete Account.
- On your desktop computer, complete the iOS Troubleshooting Assistant from Apple Support.
Note: You will be instructed about how to reboot your iOS device and will resolve common email, synching, and network issues. - Re-enter your account information on your iOS device as if you were a new customer.
