How to delete or move email messages

ID: SLN4110
Refers to: Mobile Mail , Mobile

Resolution

Depending on your device, Yahoo! Mail offers one or more ways to delete messages. Also, some steps may differ depending on your device, and some options may not apply.

Delete or move messages while reading a single message:

  1. Click Delete or Move at the top (or bottom) of the message to delete that specific message.
  2. If you chose to move the message, you will be presented with a list of your folders. Click the folder you would like to move the message to.

Delete messages while viewing the content of your Inbox or another folder:

  1. Check the boxes to the left of the messages you would like to delete.
  2. Scroll down to the Actions menu and click the down arrow.
  3. Click Delete, then click Go.
  4. To delete all of the messages currently showing in a folder, go to the Actions menu and choose Select All, then click Go.
  5. Return to the Actions menu, then select Delete, then click Go.

Note:

  • When you delete messages in Yahoo! Mail, they are transferred to your Trash folder. If you delete a message by mistake, simply find it in the Trash folder and move it back into your Inbox or another folder to recover it.
  • To manually empty the Trash folder, please follow the same steps listed above for deleting messages while viewing the contents of your Inbox. Please remember that once messages are deleted from the Trash folder, they cannot be recovered.
