Smart Phones, iOS Devices, and Tablets

1. Go to the Yahoo! Password Helper tool .
2. Select I have a problem with my password.
3. Tap Next.
4. Enter your Yahoo! ID and CAPTCHA word verification.
5. Tap Next.
6. Verify your identity by answering to the two secret questions set up for your account,.
7. Tap Next after each answer.
8. Enter your new password and re-enter it to verify.
9. Tap Next to save your new password.

Non-Smart Phone Devices

We recommend using a computer: While it is possible to recover your password using one of these devices, we recommend using the Yahoo! Password Helper tool from your computer.

If you can't access a computer, follow these steps:

1. Go to the Yahoo! Password Helper tool.
2. Select I have a problem with my password.
3. Enter your Yahoo! ID and the CAPTCHA word verification.
4. Enter your mobile number.
5. Tap Next.
6. Follow the on-screen instructions.
   - An SMS message will be sent to the mobile device you've provided.
   - This SMS message may take up to 30 minutes to be sent.
7. Once you receive the SMS message, follow the sign-in steps, and change your password.

Additional warnings:

• You need access to the mobile device: You must have access to the mobile device linked to your account to receive a new password using this method.
• The mobile number must be listed on the account: There must be a mobile number listed on your Yahoo! account in order to recover a password using this method.
  - Otherwise you need to use a computer: If you don't have a mobile number listed, you must use a computer to use the Yahoo! Password Helper tool.
  - Once you have regained access to your account, please review how to add a mobile number to your Yahoo! account.
