Receiving unwanted chat messages for Add Requests while using Messenger in Mail

ID: SLN6374
Refers to: Mail

Resolution

If you notice pop-up windows or boxes that appear to be chat messages in your Yahoo! Mail account, they are actually an offline request to add you as a contact, which also can contain a message from the sender. These chat invitations for add requests appear as a minimized Yahoo! Messenger rectangular box at the bottom of the Mail window that pops up when you click on it.

Similar to receiving unwanted spam messages through email, you can also receive unwanted chat invitations for add requests in your Yahoo! Mail account.

Note: You have the option to accept or decline them. If you would like to block someone, be sure to make a note of their Yahoo! ID before clicking "Decline."
