ID: SLN3857
Refers to: Mail , Mail Classic

Resolution

You can create reminders to alert you by email or instant message before your calendar events.

About reminders:

  • When: You can set two separate reminders to notify you anywhere from 5 minutes to 14 days before an event.
  • How: You can then specify how you want to receive event reminders after setting up when to receive them.
    - Receive reminders via email or an instant message, or both.

To set up an event reminder:

  1. Click the event in the Day, Week, or Month view.
    - The Edit Event window opens.
  2. Click Reminder and set your reminder options:
  • 1st reminder: Select a time from the Time menu.
    - Additional reminder options will now display.
  • 2nd reminder (optional): Select a time from the Again menu.
  • Delivery method: In the Via section, choose at least one of the following:
    • Email: Check the email checkbox for an email reminder.
      - Select an email address from the menu if you have more than one available.
    • Yahoo! Messenger: Check the Yahoo! Messenger checkbox for an instant message reminder.
Note: You must be signed in to Yahoo! Messenger:
      - At the time that you are scheduled to receive the reminder.
      - Using the same Yahoo! ID that you used to set up the reminder in Yahoo! Calendar.
  1. Click Save.

Text message reminders are no longer available: It is no longer possible to set up reminders via text message. If you set up text message reminders while they were available, they should still work.
