Removing contacts from a contact list
Description
You can remove a contact from one or more contact listsContact list: a defined group of contacts to whom you want to send the same email message.. When you remove a contact from a list, the contact remains in your Yahoo! Contacts under All Contacts and any other lists that it belongs to.
Resolution
Removing one or more contacts from a contact list
- In Yahoo! Mail, click the Contacts tab.
Contact lists are located in the left column, under "Lists."
- If necessary, make your lists visible by clicking the arrow to the left of the "Lists" label.

- Select a contact list.
The contacts in the selected list appear in the middle column.
- Select one or more contacts.
Tip: "Ctrl+click" to select random contacts. "Shift+click" to select the first and last contact and all contacts in between. Click Select All at the top of the middle column to select all contacts in the list.
- Click Remove from list at the top of the right column.
A confirmation window opens.
- Click Remove from list in the confirmation window.
The selected contacts are removed from the list. They remain in "All Contacts" and in any other lists that you've added them to.
Removing a contact from one or more contact lists
- In Yahoo! Mail, click the Contacts tab.
- Click All Contacts at the top of the left column to display all of your contacts in the middle column.
- Select the contact you want to remove from one or more lists.
- Click Assign to Lists at the top of the Contacts tab.
The "Assign to Lists" window opens.
- Uncheck the box next to each list that you want to remove this contact from.
- Click Done.
The contact is removed from the designated lists and remains in "All Contacts" and any other lists you added it to.
Note: Removing a contact from a contact list cannot be undone, but you can add them back to a contact list. To learn more see Adding contacts to a contact list.
