Adding contacts to a contact list


Description

You can add one or more contacts to a contact list keeping the following in mind:

  • You must create a contact before you can add contact information to a list. For example, an email address must be part of a contact's details to be added to a list.
  • A contact can belong to more than one list.
  • You can add any of your contacts to a list, but only those that include an email address receive email messages sent to the list.

Resolution
  1. In Yahoo! Mail, click the Contacts tab.
  2. Be sure all of your contacts are visible by clicking All Contacts near the top of the tab.

    Your contacts appear in the middle column.

  3. Select one or more contacts.

    Tip: "Ctrl+click" to select random contacts. "Shift+click" to select the first and last contact and all contacts in between.

  4. Add the contacts to your list in one of the following ways:
    • Drag and drop
      1. Be sure your list is visible on the left side of the "Contacts" tab by clicking the arrow to the left of the "Lists" label.

      2. Drag and drop the selected contacts onto the list name.

    • Assign
      1. Select Assign to Lists on the right side of the "Contacts" tab.

        The "Assign to Lists" window opens.

      2. Select one or more lists and then click Done.

        Tip: If you want to add the selected contacts to a new list, scroll to the bottom of the window and type a new name in the empty box.

        1. Create a new list by typing a name in the box at the bottom of the lists.
