This article describes how to view email messages in a mail folder.

To view a list of all the messages contained in a mail folder (such as Inbox or Sent), click the folder name on the left side of the Yahoo! Mail window. A list of all the messages in the folder sorted from newest to oldest appears on tab labeled with the folder's name on the right side of the window.

Note: You can only view the message list for one mail folder at a time. When you click the name of a different folder, its contents replace any message list you were viewing before.

To view a specific email message:

1. Display the contents of a mail folder as described above.
2. In the list of messages, click the specific message you want to see.

By default, the selected message displays on its own tab within Yahoo! Mail. You can have multiple messages open at once, each on its own tab.

Note: You have the option to view individuals message in a preview pane below the message list, instead of on a separate tab. With this option, you can only preview one message at a time.
