Occasionally our users experience temporary, transient issues in Yahoo! Mail, and the error message "Temporary Error 8" indicates one of these. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause. Our engineers have already been notified that an error has occurred and are looking into it. We have found that most of these issues are resolved in a few minutes to a few hours. Please try again in a few hours and your mail should be available.

In the meantime, the troubleshooting steps below may completely resolve the issue:

1. Sign in to Yahoo! Mail.
2. Click the Options menu in the upper-left corner, and select Mail Options from the pull-down list. (For Mail Classic, this is in the upper-right corner.)
3. On the left side of the page, click General Options.
4. Click Save. (If you are a Mail Classic user, click Save Changes.)

Please note: In the steps above, you don't need to change any settings within the General Options menu; the action of clicking “Save” within the General Options menu may fix the issue.
