How to regain access to a Yahoo! ID if you lost your password and cannot sign in.

To ensure the security of your account, please understand that we cannot reset your password if you are unable to verify your identity correctly.

If you forget the password for your Yahoo! Account, please visit the Yahoo! Password Helper.

Once the Password Helper verified your identity, a "Reset Your Password" link will be sent to your alternate email address. If you do not have an alternate email address on file, you will have the option of answering the Security Question you have on the account.

For US and Canadian customers, password resets can also be accomplished using a mobile phone or other SMS device, if you have previously added the number to your account. The article "Recovering a forgotten or lost password from a mobile phone" will walk you through the steps.

For security of your account, we do not have access to passwords. For this reason, we are unable to remind you of or verify your current or previous password.

Once your password is restored, go to your Account Info page and make sure your personal information is up-to-date, including the contact information under "Choose how Yahoo! contacts you".  Also if you have not entered your mobile phone number, this would be a good time to add it to your account in the event of future password problems.
