Temporary Error 2


Description

You may see one of these error messages, instead of or in addition to 'Temporary Error 2':

  • 'MailboxOpenFailed'
  • 'MessageSaveFailed'
  • 'FolderListFetchFailed'
  • 'ResetSpamFilterFailed'
  • 'UserPreferenceFetchFailed'
  • 'SaveMessageFailed'
  • 'SetMetaData'
  • 'ListMessagesFailed'
  • 'MessageDeleteFailed'

Resolution

Occasionally, a temporary issue may occur in Yahoo! Mail resulting in "Temporary Error 2."

  • The error is usually resolved in a few minutes to a few hours.
  • Please try again in a few hours and the error should be resolved.

In the meantime, these troubleshooting steps may resolve the issue:

  1. Ensure you are using a supported browser and operating system (OS). To check if your browser and OS are supported:
  2. Close or disable all other programs and browsers running Yahoo! Mail (for example, if you have your Mail open on your mobile phone, sign out there.)
  3. Clear your internet browser's cache and cookies.
  4. Restart your browser and sign in to your Yahoo! Mail account to test again.

If the error continues after you've tried the above steps and waited a few hours, please contact us.
