Explanation of differences between brief Internet headers and full Internet headers in an email

Resolution

Email headers are used to deliver an email message over the Internet and contain a record of the specific route taken by the email. A full email header is included in every message that you receive, but may not be visible unless choose to view the header as a full header.

For most people, a compact, brief header is enough. It contains the date, the sender's name and/or address, the subject of the message, and the addressee. In some cases, however, you may prefer to see the entire header. We have provided examples of a brief header and full header below.

Yahoo!7 Mail shows brief headers by default, but you can choose to view full headers anytime. (If you are reading your email using a POP-enabled email program, please refer to your email program's help files for more information about header views.) To learn how to view the full headers in Yahoo!7 Mail, see the help article What is the full header of an email, and how do I view it?
