Resolution

This article covers two methods for restoring contacts:

  • Restoring contacts that you recently deleted.
  • Requesting a Contacts restore due to a compromised account or product bug.

To restore a contact that you recently deleted:

  1. Go to the left column, under "Shortcuts," select Deleted Contacts.
    - Any recently deleted contacts are listed.
    - Note: You can restore a deleted contact for about a month from when you deleted it before it is permanently deleted. If you don't see the contact in the Deleted Contacts list, it is not possible to restore the contact.
  2. Check the box next to each contact that you want to restore.
  3. Select Restore at the right.

To request a Contacts restore:

We can restore contacts if you have missing contacts due to a product bug or because your account was compromised. Follow the instructions below for requesting a Contacts restore.

  1. Please read the following warnings before proceeding:
    • Recovery is not guaranteed. We will make our best effort to recover your contacts, but doing so is not always possible.
    • We can only recover contacts lost in the last ten days. Because of this short timeline, please contact us immediately when you notice missing contacts that you would like us to restore.
    • Any new contacts that you have added since the restoration date will be lost. For example, if you requested a restoration to January 4, you would lose all contacts that you had created from January 5 onward.
  2. Go to the Yahoo!7 Contacts Restore Form and submit the form with the requested information.
