How do I send an email to multiple people and are there limits to how many people I can send email to?
Description
This article explains how to send a message to multiple contacts.
Resolution
To send your message to more than one person:
- Enter the additional email addresses in the To, Cc, or Bcc fields.
- There must be at least one email address in the "To" field.
- If you have more than one address in a field, separate them with commas.
- For example: johndoe@yahoo.com, janedoe@yahoo.com, jimdoe@yahoo.com
- Note: If you do not enter valid email addresses, or if you do not use commas to separate your recipients' addresses, your message won't be sent. Instead, you'll see the message, "This is an invalid email address."
Sending an email to a large number of recipients:
We cannot disclose the limit of the number of recipients you can email at once, due to our spam policy. However, you should be aware that to prevent spam, the following may happen when you send an email to a large amount of recipients:
- You may be asked to enter a CAPTCHA verification code before you can send the email.
- You may be unable to send the email unless you reduce the number of recipients in the "To," "Cc," and/or "Bcc" fields.
If you need to send large numbers of outbound messages on a regular basis, we encourage you to use Yahoo!7 Groups, which is better designed to handle higher volumes of messages and mailing list distribution.
Note: Sending junk mail or "spam" is a violation of the Yahoo!7 Mail Terms of Service and will not be tolerated.
