Delete emails in Yahoo Mail

Keep your Yahoo Mail clean by deleting messages you don't want. Here's how.

Deleting your emails

You can delete emails as you view them, from a list of messages, and without needing to view their contents.

+Deleting a single message

Delete a single email from your message list by:

  1. Select the checkbox next to the message.
  2. Click Delete Trash can with "Delete" next to it..

OR

  1. Click the email to view it.
  2. Click Delete Trash can with "Delete" next to it..

+Deleting multiple emails in a list

  1. Select the checkbox next to the email(s) you want to delete.
  2. Click Delete Trash can with "Delete" next to it..

+Deleting all emails

In your Inbox, or other folder:
  1. Select the checkbox to the left of "Delete" at the top of your message list.
  2. Click Delete Trash can with "Delete" next to it..
    - You'll be able to delete 50 messages at once.

+Deleting an email without opening it

In your message list:

  1. Mouse over an email.
  2. Click the Trash icon grey trash can that appears on that email.

  Good to know: Deleted emails are sent to your Trash folder. If you deleted emails in error, you can recover them by moving them out of your Trash.

+Moving emails from your Trash

  1. Click Trash in the Left Navigation column.
  2. Select the checkbox next to the email(s) you want to move from your Trash folder.
  3. Click Move.
  4. Click a folder's name in the drop-down list.

 Your emails move from your Trash to the selected folder.

 IMPORTANT: Yahoo periodically removes emails from the Trash folder. Messages deleted from Trash can't be recovered.
