Getting started with the Yahoo! Mail app for Android

Learn how to download and set up the Yahoo! Mail app for Android on your device.


Resolution

To get started with Yahoo! Mail on your Android device:

  1. Tap the Apps tab at the bottom of your Home screen.
  2. Tap the Play Store icon on the Applications screen.
  3. Tap the Menu button, then tap Search.
  4. Enter: Yahoo! Mail.
    -
    Please note: You may see more than one search result.
  5. Look for the item with the official Yahoo! Mail logo.
    - You'll see comments, information about us, and an "Install" button.
  6. Tap Install, then tap OK to confirm.
    - At the top of your screen, you'll see an animated down arrow indicating that the application is downloading.
    - When it's finished, it will change to the Installed icon.
  7. Touch and swipe the Installed icon downward on your screen.
  8. Tap the Yahoo! Mail installation notification to launch the application.
  9. Enter your Yahoo! ID and password.
  10. Tap Sign In.

When you have finished installing, you can place the Yahoo! Mail icon on your Home screen.

To place the Yahoo! Mail icon on your Home screen:

  1. Tap the Apps tab at the bottom of the Home screen.
  2. Tap and hold the Yahoo! Mail icon.
    - After a few seconds, you'll see the Home screen with the Yahoo! Mail icon.
  3. Release the Yahoo! Mail icon, and it will move to the Home screen.

  • How to get a Yahoo! ID if you don't have one: Tap Get a new Yahoo! ID and fill in the form to create a Yahoo! ID.
