Deleting messages from a group's archive

ID: SLN4215
Refers to: Groups

Description

This article explains why only certain messages may be deleted from a group's archive and offers the option to contact the group moderator for removal of messages.

Resolution

A group's Messages section (also known as the group's "archive") serves as a history of all posts that have been made to the group. If a message is deleted or removed from the archive, it will no longer be visible to other members of the group. For this reason, a message may only be deleted by the member who posted it or by the group's moderator.

If you would like to have a message removed from the archive that you did not post, please contact your group's moderator. To contact a moderator of a group, send an email message to:

[groupname]-owner@yahoogroups.com

Note: Replace [groupname] with the actual name of the group (without brackets).

If the message in question conflicts with the Yahoo! Terms of Service, please click Get Help at the lower-right of this page so that we may investigate your claim.
