Why can't I open attachments to messages in my group?
This article explains why a file or photo attachment may appear to be missing or may not be opened from a message within a group's archive.
Group moderators have the ability to enable and disable attachment storage for each individual group. When attachments cannot be opened from the message archive, this is usually an indication that the group does not store attachments online.
If attachments appear in messages within your group simply as a non-clickable file name outlined by a gray square, you will be unable to open them, as they are not stored on the group's site.
To contact the group owner to suggest a change in the group's attachment settings, send an email message to:
Replace [GROUPNAME] with the actual name of the group, without brackets.
