How to change the name that appears on messages sent to your Group
Description
Learn how to edit the "From" name that is displayed on emails and messages sent to your Yahoo! groups.
Resolution
Yahoo! Groups will display the Yahoo! ID, name, alias, or email address of the author in the group messages, depending on how the message is posted to the group and what the user's settings are.
If you post messages via email, the "From:" name in your email program will be displayed as the author of the message. If you do not have a name specified in your email settings, your email address would be listed. If you have a name specified in your email settings, your name will be displayed instead. To change the name, or remove it, please consult your email provider's help pages. If you are a Yahoo! Mail user, please view the help article, How to change your name as it appears on outgoing mail.
If you post messages via the group's web form, the name indicated as the display name in your Yahoo! Profile (or the alias you've set up for the Yahoo! Account) will be displayed as the author. To make changes, please visit your Yahoo! Profile and use the Edit and Settings tabs at the top of the page to make changes as you see fit. Please be sure to click the Save button to save any changes you make.
To set up an alias for your Yahoo! Account for group members, please visit the help article, Creating an alias to hide your Yahoo! ID.
