ID: SLN2514
Refers to: Groups

Description

This article provides the steps for changing your settings to disallow moderators from inviting you or adding you to their group.

Resolution

Yahoo! Groups allows moderators to subscribe members to their groups or send invitations to join their group. If you do not want to be added / invited to groups, follow these steps:

  1. Click the My Email Preferences link on the My Groups page.
  2. Under "Options", click on the Edit link for each email address you want to prevent from being invited/added to a group.
  3. Under "Group Invitations", make sure the box is not checked next to Allow group moderators to directly add me to their groups or Allow group moderators to invite me to their groups.
  4. Click Save Changes when you’re done.

If you do not have a Yahoo! Mail email address:

To prevent your email address from receiving direct adds or invites to Yahoo! Groups in the future, you may change your email preferences by clicking on the link at the bottom of your add notification or invitation email.

To block your address:

  1. Uncheck the box to Allow group moderators to directly add me to their groups and/or Allow group moderators to invite me to their groups.
  2. Click  Save Changes.

You will then be sent an email from Yahoo! Groups  Customer Care requesting to confirm your email preference changes. To complete the request, please click on the link in the email or reply to the email by clicking Reply and then Send in your email program.
