How to unsubscribe from a group
Description
This article explains how a member can unsubscribe from a group either via the web or via email, and how an owner or moderator can unsubscribe from their group.
Resolution
You may unsubscribe from a Yahoo! Group via the web or via email:
To unsubscribe via the web:
- Go to the My Groups page. Note: If you are not already signed in, you will be prompted to do so.
- Click the Edit My Groups tab.
- In the "Leave Group" column, click the checkbox next to the group you plan to leave.
- Click Save Changes.
To unsubscribe from a group via email:
- Send a blank message from your subscribed email address to:
[group name]-unsubscribe@yahoogroups.com
- Be sure to replace the "[group name]" with the exact name of the group.
- You will then be sent a confirmation email, which you must respond to before your unsubscribe request will be processed. If you do not receive the confirmation email, please check your spam folder.
Note: It is imperative that you send your unsubscribe message from the email account that was used to subscribe to the group.
If you are an owner or moderator and wish to unsubscribe from your group:
- Click the Edit Membership just above the title of any page in your group.
- Click the Leave Group button.
- Confirm your request by clicking the Confirm button.
Note: If you are the group’s only owner, you must first transfer ownership to another member.
Additional Information
If being overwhelmed by too many email messages is your primary reason for leaving the group, you may wish to consider changing your email delivery preference instead.
