Editing public information in your Yahoo! Profile


Description

Learn how to edit or change the information (e.g., name, age, gender, location) that appears when your Yahoo! Profile is accessed from certain Yahoo! webpages.


Resolution

To edit your name or location:

  1. Visit your Yahoo! Profile.
  2. Click either your name or your location.
  3. Enter the information that you would like to displayed.
    Note: You must entered text in the name field. The location field may be left blank, if desired.
  4. Click away from either field to save.

To edit your bithdate or gender:

  1. Visit your Yahoo! Profile.
  2. Click the edit icon .
  3. Under "Basic Information," use the drop-downs to set your birthdate and gender.
  4. Using the sliders, select whether your information should be "Public" or "Private."
    Note: Your profile must be "Visible" in order for your information to appear on Yahoo! webpages.
  5. Click Save at the bottom of the page.

To edit the visibility of your Yahoo! Profile:

  1. Visit your Yahoo! Profile.
  2. Click the settings icon .
  3. Click the pencil icon  next to "Privacy Privacy."
  4. To hide your profile: Click the slider next to "Your profile is currently hidden."
  5. To unhide your profile: Click the slider next to "Your profile is currently visible."

To edit the visibility of your Yahoo! Profile when accessed via one of your aliases:

  1. Click the slider next to "Make the link between these Yahoo! aliases and my Yahoo! account public."
  2. Check the boxes for any aliases you want to link to your public Yahoo! Profile.
