In order to fully utilize newsfeed personalization options, you must be signed in to Yahoo! with either a Yahoo! or Facebook account.
When signed in:
- Access your personalized newsfeed from any desktop, tablet computer, or mobile phone, any time.
- Stories will be generated by what we think you’ll find most interesting, based on your Yahoo! browsing history, Facebook “Likes,” or your input. The more you use Yahoo!, the smarter we become, integrating what you tell us, learning more about your preferences, and creating a personal home on the web for you.
- Use category filters to switch news topics.
- Facebook friend activity will be integrated into the newsfeed.
When not signed in:
- Your personalized newsfeed will only be available on one device as it will not be associated with the activity on your Yahoo! ID.
- Stories will be generated based on Yahoo! News algorithms and your input.
- Use category filters to switch news topics.
Removing stories from the News Stream:
- Move your mouse cursor over a story you’d like to remove.
- Click X in the top-right of the story to remove it.

Showing fewer stories about certain topics:
- Move your mouse cursor over a story you’d like to remove.
- Click X in the top-right of the story to remove it.
- Under “Show me fewer stories about:,” select one or more of the related topics.
Note: To re-add a story that you removed by mistake, click Undo.

Note: Facebook features require either signing in with a Facebook account or signing in with a Yahoo! ID that is linked with a Facebook account.
